Business Ladies Win Powder Puff Championship

PowderpuffAlthough many Business Majors participate in Intramurals, three of our ladies excelled in Powder Puff Football this season. Katelyn Shaw, Kate Saunders, Cortnee Crane, and their teammates are notoriously called the Bruisers.  The team started in their freshman year with other girls from their wing who wanted to play football.  Now juniors, there are 15 on their team representing several majors.

Four teams of girls made up the Powder-puff Intramurals this year.  They practiced each week and played games on Saturdays.  After six games each and the play-offs, two teams gathered for the championship game.  The Bruisers laid claimed a 4-2 season, with each loss to the Punishers whom they now faced for the championship.

The game took place Saturday evening the 14th under the Nampa High stadium lights.  Both teams lived up to their bruising and punishing reputations, but the Bruisers went all the way with a 12-7 win for the championship against the previously undefeated Punishers.  Congratulations to the Bruisers and their great School of Business players.

Also deserving honors are Preston O’Malley, Ryan Manley, Ryan VanBeek, and Riley Cook, four School of Business men who played on the runner-up men’s team, the Paxico Buress’ Run.
