The NNU School of Business recently hosted the joint meeting of the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Chamber’s Board of Advisors. (Dr. Bill Russell is a member of the Chamber Board of Directors and the Executive Committee of the Board.) The luncheon meeting was held in the South Gallery of the Freisen Art Gallery in the Brandt Center, and was the first of a new Chamber initiative to hold some meetings at locations around the Boise Valley, including Canyon County. The School of Business was proud to lead the new Chamber initiative to hold meeting at locations remote from Chamber headquarters in downtown Boise.
The meeting featured reports to the Boards from Tom Dale, Mayor of Nampa, and David Ferdinand, Canyon County Commissioner. Both are NNU alumni, and Commissioner Ferdinand’s daughter is a member of the NNU faculty. The Boards also heard a report from the Mayor of Caldwell.
NNU President Dr. David Alexander welcomed the group to campus. Many of the business and community leaders who attended the luncheon meeting had never visited the NNU campus, and the reactions were highly favorable.
