Biography: Ted Stearns brings over three decades of professional performance and teaching experience to his role as a trumpet instructor. A U.S. Air Force Band veteran (1989–2013), Ted has performed with world-renowned artists including Bill Watrous, Paquito D’Rivera, Chuck Findley, Sal Lozano, Freddie Hubbard, Allen Vizzutti and Frank Mantooth.

His formal education includes studies at the University of Oregon, Cal State Long Beach and Western Oregon State University. Ted has studied with esteemed trumpet artists such as Brad Allison, Bobby Shew, Greg Hopkins, Steve Emery and Bernie Dillon.

Ted remains passionate about music education and performance, with one goal still on his bucket list—playing the Broadway version of West Side Story.
