Through NNU’s Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, you will be provided with a general understanding of multiple areas of accounting and prepared for a career in public, corporate or governmental accounting.
- Equips students with the advanced knowledge and practical skills needed to pursue careers as Certified Public Accountants (CPAs)or business managers with a specialization in accounting.
- Meets the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam in multiple states — including Idaho — by offering the required semester hours in business administration and accounting-focused coursework.
About Accounting
Through NNU’s Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, you will receive a general understanding of multiple areas of accounting and be prepared for a career in public, corporate or governmental accounting. Besides developing a solid foundational knowledge in business and accounting with a Christian worldview, you will have many opportunities to gain experience through internships and by participating in the business clubs. Upon completing your degree, you will be prepared to embark on an accounting career or a management career with a strong accounting emphasis or prepared to attend graduate business and accounting programs.
NNU is one of the few Pacific Northwest universities accredited through the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. Since 1997, our graduating seniors have consistently scored in the 80th to 90th percentile or higher on the national business comprehensive exam taken by other graduating business majors across the nation, which evaluates mastery across key business disciplines such as marketing, management, finance, and managerial accounting, as well as critical thinking and real-world business scenario problem-solving skills.
