About Spiritual Formation
NNU’s 36-credit Master of Arts in Leadership & Formation offers a specialization in Spiritual Formation. All our degree tracks are fully online and designed for busy adults. Our programs help you succeed by completing one course at a time in as little as 21 months—and with your summers off, too!
At NNU, your Spiritual Formation courses are interwoven with a strong core in Bible, Church History, Philosophy and Theology, offering rich opportunities for you to journey through your program alongside colleagues with a shared heart for ministry while expanding your engagement with graduate students from other specializations, traditions and cultures. This combination of focus and breadth is one of many things that makes NNU’s program design unique.
Tuition Costs
$575 per credit, $150 per semester technology fee
Program Outcomes
- Assess spiritual journeys of individuals and communities, for the purpose of creating a spiritual formation plan that will stimulate growth in acts of piety and mercy, i.e. inward and outword holiness
- Practice the role of being a spiritual director, by utilizing spiritual formation practices, to a local group in their ministry context
- Understand and develope spiritual formation practices, under the supervision of a mentor, that foster personal and spiritual growth.
- Integrate the various ways spiritual formation may be part of the minstries of a local church in teaching, worship, preaching and mission
