Rehearsals are held in NNU’s choir room and/or the Little Theatre one evening a week on Tuesdays, 5:30 p.m. – 6:45 p.m.

 Kyra Rishell is a music educator, vocalist, and worship leader dedicated to inspiring the next generation through music, faith, and meaningful relationships. She is a graduate of NNU, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree for both Music Education (K-12) and Vocal Performance. She completed her student teaching at Vallivue High School under Corrina Steinbach and at Lake Ridge Elementary under Sara Neddo. Kyra currently serves as the NextGen Worship Director at Crossroads, a community Church in Nampa. She is beginning her first year of teaching at Wilder Middle/High School to help rebuild the school’s music program while also teaching 7th and 8th grade math. “Throughout my life, I realized two main things have carried me through: God’s love and the love of music.”

A Moscow, Idaho native, Kathy Stefani has taught both elementary and secondary music for many years. She received her Bachelor of Music and Master’s in Music Education from the University of Idaho. She plays numerous instruments, is an Orff Level I specialist and served as president for the Idaho Music Educators Association for eight years. She has presented at numerous state and regional conferences on elementary General Music and Band pedagogy. She currently serves as the Assistant Chair for the Idaho All-State Honor groups and is an adjunct professor for Northwest Nazarene University. She recently retired from teaching public school music in Idaho after 34 years. Mrs. Stefani is the recipient of numerous grants, and she and her programs have been recognized by the Grammy Foundation. Kathy received the 2021 Governor’s Award in the Arts, the 2022 Music Teacher of the Year from the Idaho Music Educators Association for her work as a member of the organization, establishing the IMEA Mentorship program, and music instructor in a small town and the National Federation of High Schools Music Teacher of the Year, Section 8, (Northwest) in 2023. The love of music came late to Mrs. Stefani and her hope is to instill that love in her students early on.
