Accounting Club

The Accounting Club is an opportunity for students to be involved in the community, while at the same time encouraging students to pursue their career goals in the area of Accounting. The Accounting Club exists as a means for club members to network with Accounting professionals, as well as, serve the community by providing tax assistance to low income level families.
Members of the Accounting Club host both campus and community activities, including:
  • Rake-Up Nampa: A fun-filled day of raking leaves for the elderly or those in need of assistance.
  • Campus BBQ: The club sponsors a campus-wide barbeque each semester for students and faculty.
The Accounting Club also provides opportunities for members to gain valuable internship experience through the following programs:
  • VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance): This volunteer program through the IRS is intended to assist low income level individuals and families with their tax returns. The club partners with the Nampa First Church of the Nazarene to provide students with valuable experience on how to prepare certified IRS tax documents and work with clients.
  • NWCCU (Northwest Christian Credit Union) Supervisory Committee: Selected members of the Accounting Club are nominated to be a part of the Supervisory Committee at NWCCU. Students who accept this position receive first-hand experience in conducting audits, completing loan reviews, verifying account information, and ensuring member assets remain secure.
The club is also currently working to estalbish a connection with the Gonzaga University's Master of Accountancy and Taxation program. This connection would provide students with an opportunity to continue their education at a university that has a nationally ranked Accountancy and Taxation program.
Join us for a meeting! Tuesday's at 11:30 AM in room 201.
