Hilary Swidecki

HILARY SWIDECKI

-President-

Eagle, Idaho

Hilary (Johnson) Swidecki is an Account Executive with Delta Dental of Idaho selling and managing large group insurance benefits. Hilary started working for Delta Dental immediately following her graduation from NNU in 2011 (BA in mathematics and BA in physics) and she graduated from NNU again in 2024 with her MBA. Hilary and her husband, Paul (undergraduate class of 2012 and MBA graduate class of 2015), met at NNU, married in 2012, and currently live in Eagle, Idaho, with their four children. Paul works in banking and the pair are active in several ministries at Valley Shepherd Church of the Nazarene—including music, kids ministry, hospitality, church board, missions, small groups and more—along with other non-profit boards and volunteer organizations. The family loves to travel—whether to the mountains or internationally—and spend time with their extended family in Idaho, Washington, Ohio and beyond.

KEVIN SIX

Beaverton, Oregon

Kevin and Camrynne (Class of 1995) live in Beaverton, Oregon. They attend Nexus Church of the Nazarene, where they are both active in ministry leadership. Their two kids are third-generation NNU alumni. Kevin always seems to have a home project in progress and loves traveling and adventuring outside with his family camping, hiking, backpacking, bicycling and riding dirt bikes.

Cherie Reiter

CHERIE REITER

Castle Rock, Colorado

Cherie serves as Co-Pastor and Worship Pastor at The Connection Church of the Nazarene in Castle Rock. She also serves as the Nazarene Discipleship International women’s ministry director for the Colorado district. She earned a BA in Music from Northwest Nazarene University in 2000 and was ordained in 2020. Cherie married Christopher in 2005, and together they have been blessed with three children who follow Jesus and desire to impact their city. Aside from ministry in the church, Cherie loves writing and composing original music, enjoying a good cup of coffee with friends, thrift store shopping and pottery.

Yakima, Washington

Christine (Talmadge) Miles, class of 1994, is the wife of late board member and alumnus, Eddie Miles (Class of 1993). As an English major, Christine has held jobs teaching, editing and evaluating student writing, and she is currently completing her certification to become a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She enjoys sporting events, traveling, outdoor activities (walking, hiking, boating, kayaking) and reading. Christine has two adult children, a son and a daughter, who have both attended NNU. She resides in Yakima where she is an active member of West Valley Church of the Nazarene.

Rick Cave

RICK CAVE

Medford, Oregon

Rick (Class of 1992) and his wife, Brenda (Naccarato, Class of 1994) call Medford, Oregon home. Since 2015, he has been delivering mail for the United States Postal Service. They are actively involved in New Life Church of the Nazarene. In his spare time you’ll find him mountain biking, fishing, mowing the lawn or camping with his family. Some of his fondest memories are of his time at NNU and he considers it a great honor to serve as an Alumni Board member.

Nampa, Idaho

After a 26-year career at NNU in University Advancement and Alumni Relations, April serves in a variety of roles at Karcher Church of the Nazarene in Nampa. She earned a BA from Pasadena College (now PLNU) in 1973, an MA in Spiritual Formation from NNU in 2005 and was ordained in 2015. April is married to her high school sweetheart, John, and together they have been blessed with three adult children who have, in turn, blessed them with the incredible joy of 10 grandchildren. When she finds time away from family and church, April’s favorite pastime is a brisk walk or a leisurely cup of coffee with a good friend. Her favorite quote is “The will of God will never take you where the grace of God cannot keep you.”

Spokane, Washington

Pam (‘75) and her husband Tim (‘73), have lived in Spokane for 10 years after living on the westside of Washington for almost 40 years. They have three adult children who all graduated from NNU – two of whom also live in Spokane. They have six grandchildren. If you ask Pam how she spends her time, she would say, “I watch grandchildren!” She is a retired school teacher and pastor’s wife and spends her spare time quilting, reading, weeding her flower beds, and spending time with family and friends. As a couple, they attend Spokane Bethel Nazarene Church.

Eagle River, Alaska

Nancy (Walker) Kinney (’84) lives in Eagle River, Alaska, with her husband, Kris (’84).
Their adult son graduated NNU in 2023 and is continuing his graduate work at NNU with his wife and son. The Kinneys are active in their local church. Nancy enjoys being active with the NYI, NMI and DAB on the Alaska District. Now retired from the Anchorage School District, Nancy was a classroom teacher, a Reading Teacher Specialist, a Title I Language Arts/Math Teacher Specialist and worked in Professional Development. She earned an MA from the University of Alaska – Anchorage. Nancy is the Volunteer Coordinator at New Hope Compassionate Ministries in Anchorage. The Lord has blessed her with great family and friends with whom she loves spending time. She enjoys coffee dates, Bible studies, traveling, missions work, cooking/baking, reading, and sunset walks on beaches.

Emily D'Orazio

Nampa, Idaho

Emily (Maxfield) D’Orazio came to NNU from Yakima, WA and graduated in 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education. Emily taught 3rd grade for several years and now works as a case manager for adults with developmental disabilities. While at NNU, Emily met her husband Joshua (Class of 2019) when they both worked on campus as student ambassadors. They stayed in Nampa after getting married and now have a son named Zander. Emily enjoys reading, watching Mariners games, and visiting National Parks with her family.

DARCY ARMSTRONG

Yakima, Washington

Darcy (Riddle) Armstrong graduated from, NNC in 1986 with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration and currently resides in Yakima, Washington with her husband of 28 years, Brett. Darcy and Brett own Riddco Inc., a fiber, telecom and power outside plant contracting business that services Central Washington. Darcy is a member of West Valley Nazarene Church, where she loves serving on the Leadership Board, working with Women’s Ministries, working with Children’s ministries, and being a part of the Caravan program, where she has taught third and fourth grade girls for fourteen years.
Darcy loves spending time with her family, entertaining, planning parties, crossing things off her bucket list, and traveling to new places, and her passion is baking! Darcy has loved serving as a director on the NNU Alumni Board for the past few years and is excited for what the future holds for NNU!

PRESTON O’MALLEY

Woodinville, Washington

Preston (Class of 2011) and his wife Brittani live in Woodinville, Washington with their three young daughters. They attend Hope Community, a church plant from Canyon Hills Community Church, where Preston has attended since graduating. Both have been involved in youth ministries for a number of years and are involved with youth athletics. Preston has a background in finance and works in residential construction. Their family loves to be active and outdoors enjoying sports, hiking, skiing and gardening.

HEATHER PILLERS

Nampa, Idaho

Heather Pillers, class of 2009, is the Children’s Pastor at College Church of the Nazarene. She is married to David Pillers (2003) and they have two kids, Connor and Mackenzie. They enjoy being involved in a variety of church ministries, running together, hiking, camping and now doing many DIY projects on their home.

CARLOS ANTRAS-SOLE

Mainz, Germany

Carlos graduated from NNU in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Originally from Barcelona, Spain, he currently lives in Germany. After a 30-year career at Nestlé, he decided to pursue a new path in academia before transitioning to the non-profit sector. He now works for the German humanitarian NGO Humedica e.V., based in Bavaria. Passionate about intercultural exchange, Carlos enjoys exploring different cultures, learning and teaching languages, and travelling the world.

KAREN BALL

Kent, Washington

Since 1999, Karen has worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor in the Neuro Rehabilitation program at the University of Washington Academic Medical Center (Seattle). She and her husband, Terry, have two grown children and one grandson. They worship at Kent First Church of the Nazarene, where she is active on the church board and the Women’s Council. She loves golfing, attending Seahawks games, reading, traveling, holding her grandson, and she and Terry are taking up a new hobby of bike riding.

STACY BLUM

Troy, Idaho

Stacy works from home and is the Office Manager for Blum Construction, a family-owned LLC. Stacy and her husband, Curtis, have 5 married children and 14 grandchildren. Her husband, 3 sons and 1 son-in-law also work at Blum Construction. She enjoys being with family and friends, walking, biking, paddleboarding, just being outdoors doing almost anything, watching her grandkids, reading, music, gardening and being a part of her church.

BRAD MICHELSON

Oro Valley, Arizona

For most of his professional career, Brad has been supporting engineering and management tasks and is currently serving as Contracts Director at Infinity Systems Engineering. He and his wife, Robin, have 4 adult children. They are active in their church and in community volunteer opportunities. The Michelson family also enjoys outdoor activities, sports and traveling.
