Thank you for your interest in partnering with NNU's Concurrent Credit Program (CCP). To teach an NNU concurrent credit course, you will need to apply and be approved as an NNU CCP Instructor.

Steps to Offering a Concurrent Credit Course

1. School district seeks approval to offer concurrent credit by submitting:

- Instructor’s vita or resume
- Instructor’s transcripts
- Proposed course

  • 2. NNU Concurrent Credit appoints a faculty member to consider the proposal.
  • 3. NNU faculty reviews instructor’s transcripts and resume and determines whether the instructor is qualified to teach the course. Considerations for approval are: sufficient formal education in requested subject area, related work experience in content area and demonstration of ability to present selected curriculum at the expected collegiate level for concurrent enrollment credit.
    4. NNU faculty may contact the high school instructor to discuss alignment of the proposed course to the University course. This collaboration includes formulating a syllabus, course pedagogy, content, textbook, grading scale and assessment.
    5. High school instructor submits a course syllabus for approval.


    Individual Responsibilities

    1. NNU faculty partners with the high school instructor by:

    - Collaborating in the design of the course.
    -Creating a system of evaluation worthy of college credit.
    -Communication, classroom visits and review of the final grade assignments in conjunction with an evaluation of the final exam or other summative evaluation.
    -Offering and participating in professional development opportunities.
    -Submitting an evaluation of the course with recommendations to the department chair/school dean and academic program director.

    2. Concurrent Credit Office:

    - Prepares a course request form for approval by the department chair, academic dean and academic program director.
    - Notifies high school of course approval and sends appropriate course documentation and information to the concurrent credit instructor.
    - Prepares and distributes publicity information to appropriate school district personnel.
    - Participates in parent meetings, coordinating the dates with the high school and appropriate NNU personnel (academic faculty and deans and concurrent credit staff).

    3. High school instructor:

    - Collaborates with the assigned NNU faculty member to ensure course objectives are met.
    - Participates in professional development opportunities and other NNU-sponsored activities.
    - Distributes credit information to students in applicable classes.
    - Coordinates student registration with Concurrent Credit Office.
    - Assists students with course requirements and procedures.
    - Completes and submits grades online.

    4. Student enrolls in the course and orders final transcript from the Registrar's Office when transferring credits.
