Description of Position
The Supervisor performs tasks related to the distribution of U.S. Mail and works directly to supervise student workers. Responsibilities include recommendations for new mailroom policy and process to provide outstanding customer service to NNU’s students and constituents. This position works with minimal supervision. Work is accomplished within established procedures and is routine. This position is a non-exempt, 12 month, Part-Time position and reports directly to the Director of Human Resources.

 

Essential Functions 

  • Directly oversee daily mailroom operations.
  • Hire, schedule, and train student workers in mailroom responsibilities.
  • Maintain mailbox assignments and address records within NNU’s database. 
  • Generate required financial reports.
  • Purchase supplies for the mail room.
  • Operate mailroom equipment including scales, metering machine, and computer.
  • Pick up and deliver mail to local post office.
  • Process outbound mail according to mailing guidelines.
  • Receive, accurately process and distribute packages and mail to intended recipients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required: 

  • Associate degree.
  • Basic bookkeeping skills and/or basic computation skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and operate handcart.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information and files.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to climb, squat, lift, reach, and bend.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Applicant must be a Christian in agreement with NNU’s mission and lifestyle standards


Preferred: 

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two - four (2-4) years customer service experience.
  • Supervisory experience.
