Chris Ammirati

Upright Bass Instructor

Biogrpahy: Christopher Ammirati grew up in Seattle, WA, where he was a member of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and performed as a soloist with the Academy Chamber Orchestra. He then moved east to Ohio where he earned BM and MM degrees in double bass performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music and did two years of nondegree study at Oberlin college. Christopher has since performed in music festivals in Chautauqua, NY, Round Top, TX, and Houston. Additionally, he has worked with students and coached ensembles at the Hammond Ashley Memorial Bass Workshop in Seattle and the Marrowstone Music Festival in Bellingham, WA. He was previously a freelance musician in the greater Cleveland area, and has performed with various ensembles including the Canton Symphony Orchestra, Akron Symphony Orchestra, CityMusic Cleveland, and the Erie Philharmonic. Christopher recently moved back to the northwest where he resides in Walla Walla, WA.
