Biography: Dr. Konya Weber currently serves as the Associate Dean at Northwest Nazarene University’s College of Business and previously held the position as the Chair for the Department of Business & Economics since 2008. Dr. Weber earned her bachelor’s degree from Mt.Vernon Nazarene University majoring in business administration and psychology, her MBA from Saint Joseph’s University with a minor in marketing, and her PhD with an emphasis on Information Systems and E-commerce from Touro University International. Dr. Weber is committed to professional development and has pursued numerous certifications including Google analytics, Google ads search, Google ads display, and Hubspot Social Media Marketing Certification I & II.
In 2020, Dr. Weber was recognized by her students and peers for her dedication in delivering exceptional, high-quality education, thereby receiving the ACBSP Teaching Excellence Award. She is the designated Faculty Advisor for American Marketing Association (AMA) Collegiate Chapter at NNU. Under her leadership the AMA chapter has been recognized in the top 5 and top 10 small chapters along consecutive years for outstanding Social and community impact. She serves on various committees for the University, including the committee on Rank & Tenure, Cultural Action Team, and the LEAP (Leading Effectively Achieving Performance) training initiative.
Before transitioning to academia, Dr. Weber held corporate marketing management positions at architectural and engineering firms in the Philadelphia area and worked with various companies such as IBM, Merck, AT&T, DuPont, Delta Airlines, and other Fortune 500 companies. Her work spanned department management, technical selling, advertising, technical writing, proposal writing, and public relations events. After relocating to Idaho, she shifted her focus to software-training and consulted with various businesses such as HP, Washington Group International, Department of Education, College of Idaho, and State Farm. Dr. Weber has also performed consulting services for Basic IP Management to explore the market potential for intellectual property licensing for a Fortune 500 company. She offering expert opinion for Attorneys regarding marketing-related cases. Dr Weber has appeared on channel 7 KTVB, ‘It’s your Business’ live segments and appeared on channel 12 KTRV discussing current marketing topics for small businesses. She has appeared on channel 7 KTVB ’s Better Business Bureau’s weekly ‘Business at its Best’ television show on current marketing issues. Dr. Weber been used as a source for online marketing articles for the Idaho Press Tribune and TV source. She authored articles for Business Insider, an Idaho Statesman weekly magazine, and served as conference/event speaker.
Research interests are primarily in online marketing strategies, social marketing initiatives, innovative teaching methods, and student retention and evaluation issues. Dr. Weber has served on BBB Northwest Executive Board, Families ETC, College of Western Idaho Business Advisory Board, and AMA Collegiate Council serving as Co-Chair for its collegiate conference. Dr. Weber resides in Star, Idaho with her supportive husband, two incredible children, and an active German short-haired pointer.
