Monica Hughes holds a BA in Piano Performance and Music Theory from NNU and an MM in Piano Pedagogy from Southern Methodist University where she studied with Dr. Harris Crohn and was teaching assistant to Louise Bianchi, co-author of the Music Pathways series with Lynn Freeman Olson and Marvin Blickenstaff.
She is active in Treasure Valley music organizations and has served as president for both the
Nampa Musicale (NFMC) and the Treasure Valley Music Teachers Association (MTNA). She enjoys teaching and performing with ensemble piano groups in recitals and concerts. Her piano students have earned many awards and actively participate in music festivals, competitions, master classes and examinations.
