Join us for Homecoming & Family Weekend 2019

Northwest Nazarene University
Sep 26, 2019

Plans for Northwest Nazarene University’s 2019 Homecoming & Family Weekend are officially underway! We encourage all of the NNU community of alumni, friends and family to make plans now to join us on November 7-9 for a weekend full of rooting, rallying and reminiscing.

Apart from the annual Homecoming traditions that you know and love, there will also be new gatherings and events that we are excited to introduce.

On Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. in the Brandt Center Swayne Auditorium, we will be kicking off Homecoming weekend with our Alumnus of the Year, Patrick Gray, and his life-long friend, Justin Skeesuck, for a special screening of “I’ll Push You.” The film will take you on a journey of a lifetime for the two friends as they embarked on a 500-mile pilgrimage across northern Spain on the Camino del Santiago. Justin lives his life in a wheel-chair, but that didn’t deter them for a minute. A feat for anyone to accomplish, the two show how faith, friendship and community can all come together to create something beautiful. Patrick and Justin will also be available for a Q & A and book signing following the film.

On Friday at 3:00 p.m., we invite you to celebrate with us as we dedicate the New Student Commons to campus. This building will serve as an intentional destination for students to interact, live and learn together. After the dedication ceremony, visitors will have the opportunity to tour the building. All are welcome and encouraged to take part as NNU continues our legacy of investing in the lives of our students.

For alumni with the following graduation years: 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2014, this is your year to celebrate! Make sure to check out your special reunion lunch on Saturday. Don’t miss your chance to reconnect and catch up with classmates and college friends from your glory days.

On Saturday at 5:00 p.m., we invite you to join with us in celebrating 50 years of varsity women’s sports, which was first started under the direction of Dr. Martha Hopkins. This will be a fun evening of food, fellowship and a special program that will take you back through the years. We cannot wait to relive some of the amazing people and meaningful events that helped NNU Women’s Athletics become what it is today. All are invited to attend this celebratory event!

Make plans now to be part of Homecoming and Family Weekend 2019! This is just the beginning of all of the incredible events that will be happening!
