Individuals applying for admission to the Christian Ministry Online Program should complete the following steps:

1. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. NNU's school code is 00-1624.

- Fill out the FAFSA using the appropriate federal tax return.
- Sign the financial aid form with the electronic pin number.

Email or mail: a 3-5 page statement of purpose in which the applicant explains (a) her/his academic and professional interests, (b) the reasons behind selecting this particular program and Northwest Nazarene University, and (c) how this degree will impact her/his role in the educational community.
7. Email or mail: a 10-15 page research-based paper on an appropriate subject from the broad field of education that represents the applicant's analytical and writing abilities. This paper may be a representative piece of the applicant's previous work in another academic program.

1. A recognized specialist degree (Ed.S.) or its equivalent with a minimum of 30 semester graduate credits from an academic institution that is accredited by an official regional accreditation agency. The completed Ed.S. program must meet with the approval of the Doctoral Program Director. Additional courses may be required based upon recommendations from the program director. In particular, EDUC8677 - Introduction to Qualitative and Quantitative Research is required.
2. Applicants who have not earned an Ed.S. degree or its equivalent should apply to the Ed.S. program before applying to the doctoral program in Educational Leadership.
3. A minimum grade point average of 3.5 in the student's Ed.S. program as indicated on official transcripts. The student must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 to continue in the doctoral program.
4. For students whose native language is not English, satisfactory results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as indicated by official scores. For minimum scores, see the International Students section.
5. Competency in the use of computer and Internet technology, and either access to or ownership of appropriate computer equipment. High-speed Internet access is required.

Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN)

Family Nurse Practitioner Admission Requirements

Admission to the Master of Science in Nursing Family Nurse Practitioner program at Northwest Nazarene University is highly competitive and based on evaluation of all portions of the application. In addition to meeting the requirements of the University as described in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies Catalog, students must meet the requirements specified below:

Requirements for the Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN) Applicants

• Submit a graduate application for admission with a $50 nonrefundable application fee by May 15th for admission into the fall cohort.
• Submit a curriculum vita.
• Submit official transcript(s) showing the completion of your BSN degree from a regionally accredited college or univeristy.
• A minimum grade-point average of 3.0 (4.0 scale) for all nursing courses completed.
• Verification of current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse within the United States.
• International students will be considered on a case by case basis.
  • If English is not the student's native language, see the University requirements in the College of Adult and Graduate Studies Catalog.
• Successfully complete (minimum grade of “C”) an undergraduate or graduate statistics course.
• One year of clinical practice as a registered nurse preferred but not required,
• Provide a Personal Goal Statement.
• Submit three academic and/or professional recommendations (ex: supervisor, colleague, professor) to be completed online.
• The FNP admission committee may request a pre-admission interview.  Video interviews may be arranged for applicants residing greater than 100 miles form the University campus.

Requirements for the Associate Degree RN to MSN FNP Bridge Program

• All Associate Degree Nurses must first apply for admission to the RN to BSN program to complete the general education prerequisites and required baccalaureate nursing content.  Please see admission requirements and prerequisites to the RN to BSN program here.
• A minimum grade of "B' (3.0) must be obtained in the prerequisite baccalaureate content nursing courses (NURS4100, 4113, 4114, 4115) for consideration of acceptance into the MSN FNP program.
• After successful completion of the undergraduate prerequisites and baccalaureate content the associate degree nurse may then continue in the RN to BSN program or apply to the MSN FNP program by May 15th.
• One year of clinical practice as a registered nurse required, two years of clinical practice preferred.
• Provide a Personal Goal Statement in a 250 - 300 word essay. Please address the following items for the Nursing Admissions Committee to evaluate content and writing ability (grammar, spelling, and word use):

• NOTE: Completion of the above mentioned prerequisite coursework does not guarantee admission to the MSN FNP program.  The FNP admission committee may request a pre-admission interview upon review of your file.

Leadership and Education (Nursing) (MSN)

Admission Requirements

Applicants with a Bachelor or Associate Degree in Nursing requirements

• Nursing degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Current RN Licensure in the United States/US Territory or the equivalent for international licensure.
• Good standing with the licensing body
• Currently employment as a Registered Nurse (RN) or experience.
• Completion of both a Nursing Research and Statistics course with a minimum grade of "C".
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0* in all previous academic course work

Additional Requirements for Applicants with an Associate Degree in Nursing 

• The applicant with an Associate degree must complete successfully or transfer the following prerequisites and baccalaureate nursing content before entering a MSN program).

• Earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 in the first three graduate courses. If the student does not earn the minimum GPA of 3.0 in all MSN courses, he or she will not be permitted to progress in the MSN program.

Exceptions to regular admission requirements must be approved by the Master of Science in Nursing Program Director.

Transfer Credit

• Students accepted into the Master of Science in Nursing program may transfer credits up to 25% of previously completed graduate work from another accredited institution.
• All transfer credits must be approved by the Program Director.
• Credits must have been earned within five years preceding the date of admission to NNU's Master of Science in Nursing program.

Application for Admission

Bachelor and Associate Degree in Nursing Applicants

• Submit online application with a nonrefundable $50 application fee.
• Submit an official transcript from the college or university where nursing degree was granted and/or from institution where applicant seeks to transfer credit(s).
• Provide evidence of current RN licensure.

Application for admission to the NNU Online Program is made through the online application. The Admissions office receives and processes all applications for admission, assisting applicants with program specific admission requirements. Application materials needed for admission may include, and are not limited to the following:

Admission Requirements

Students desiring the MBA degree must meet these admission requirements:

1. A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
2. A cumulative GPA of 3.0 in all academic course work. (Students with a GPA of less than 3.0 may be considered for provisional acceptance.)
3. A favorable recommendation from the School of Business Graduate Committee.

Exceptions to regular admission requirements must be approved by the School of Business Graduate Committee.

Application for Admission

Students desiring admission to the MBA program must complete the following:

1. Submit an application online or obtain the application form from the School of Business Graduate Office. 
2. Submit a non-refundable $50 application fee.
3. Provide evidence of competency in writing skills by submitting a personal essay. A sample of your analytical writing skills is required as a part of the admission process. Using 250 words or more, please respond to the following quote.

6. Submit two recommendation forms from professional colleagues familiar with your ability.
