RECERTIFICATION CREDIT AND TEACHING ENDORSEMENTS
We are making it easier than ever for educators to access courses for recertification or to move over on the pay scale! CPD adds new courses every day with affordable and convenient options to fit every teacher’s busy schedule. All of our credits count toward the credits needed for teacher recertification, and each PD credit is graduate level, non-degree seeking.
The Center for Professional Development offers Comprehensive Literacy courses multiple times each year. Our course covers all four standards and the cost for the course includes transcripted credit. These courses meet the Idaho State Department re-certification requirement.
Our online courses give you convenient, flexible, and relevant professional development options you can take anywhere. We offer a variety of classes from our own instructors that you can take at your own pace at any time. We also offer options from several 3rd-party vendors.
We are here to partner with you for recertification credit, even in your own workplace. Schools and districts can align credit with us for professional development courses that are already being offered. Hit two birds with one stone by aligning certified credit with your in-house professional development programs.
In order to recertify, administrators are required to complete a three-credit course in the statewide Danielson framework for teacher evaluation. Completion of the three modules of this course meets the requirements set forth by the State Board of Education and the requirements outlined by the State Department of Education.
For those that are already certified to teach in Idaho, NNU offers an Endorsement Only program that will allow you to add an endorsement for additional subject areas. These endorsements can only be added to a valid Idaho Teaching Certificate. Other than the Gifted & Talented Endorsement, all of these are offered through the College of Education at NNU. Learn more by contacting educationinfo@nnu.edu.
Gain an understanding of the unique needs of gifted and talented students. Through the courses offered in this program, you can enhance your knowledge and expertise regarding gifted and talented students.
The H.A.C.K. Model of Innovative Instruction is designed to move a classroom from a Highly Structured environment to a student-centered environment where students take ownership and personalize their learning. The H.A.C.K. Model builds teacher capacity to become the facilitator of learning and transfer ownership to students. In a classroom where the H.A.C.K. Model is implemented, students will build capacity and independence to become self directed PBL learners.
Beyond PD Credits
Northwest Nazarene University offers more than just professional development credits to educators. At NNU, you can become certified to teach or get an advanced degree in education, including an M.Ed., Ed.S., Ed.D. or Ph.D.
