    Noah Daniels graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2018 and loved his experience in Christian higher education. As a student, he got the opportunity to travel around the country leading worship in churches and summer camps on behalf of PLNU, take a deep dive into theology and philosophy and work for the chaplaincy department. Fun fact: he is the fourth generation in his family pursuing ordination in the Church of the Nazarene.

    Grant Miller

    Position
    University Chaplain
    Grant Miller was recently appointed NNU’s next University Chaplain. As Chaplain, Grant provides leadership for campus spiritual life through responsibility for chapel programming, worship, discipleship, pastoral care, mission trips, administration and Christian community building. The Chaplain serves as a member of the Office of University Mission & Ministry, which oversees NNU’s institutional commitment to faith integration throughout everything the University does, as well as the University’s connection to local congregations and their pastors. Grant has been serving as NNU’s Director of Community Life for seven years and is currently the college pastor at Nampa College Church of the Nazarene. He graduated with a double-major in political science and public communications from NNU in 2010, returning the following year to get his third major in philosophy. In 2017, Grant received his Master of Divinity in Spiritual Formation from NNU and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Public Policy & Administration at Boise State University. Grant is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene and has served in the local church for 10 years. Grant and his wife Jen just welcomed their third child into their family in June.

    Associate Chaplain
    As Associate Chaplin, Ashley serves alongside the University Chaplain as a member of the Office of University Mission & Ministry. A graduate of Southern Nazarene University, Ashley and her husband Ryan have been involved in ministry since he accepted a call to full-time vocational worship ministry after college. Since then, Ashley has worked in a variety of roles in the local church, conference administration, non-profit management and Christian higher education and is currently pursuing ordination requirements through NNU. She, her husband, and their four children have lived in Nampa since 2016, having served previously in Texas, Florida and Kansas.

    Fred Fullerton

    Associate Chaplin for Graduate and Professional Students
    After having served for several years as a member of NNU’s Senior Leadership Team and as the Director of the Office of University Mission & Ministry, Fred currently serves as the point person for the Chaplains’ Office for NNU’s Graduate and Professional Students. Fred is always available for communications about prayer requests, for spiritual formation resources, and any other questions.

    Michele Emerson

    Executive Assistant
    Michele is the administrator for the Office of University Mission and Ministry, sharing her time between supporting the work of the Chaplains and the University’s Director of Congregational Engagement. Michele has extensive experience working for the University in a variety of offices, and brings insight and clarity into the work of the Chaplains’ office. Michele also directly oversees the Chapel attendance and reductions process each semester.

    Student Ministry Teams

    Each year, NNU students apply to be a part of our traveling student ministry teams. These teams serve primarily in the summers, during which they travel to assist in music and ministry at churches and summer camps in the Northwest Field of the Church of the Nazarene. If you would like to have an NNU team come to your church or event to help in ministry, outreach or other programming, please fill out this form.
