Health Insurance Waiver

Students whose insurance is compliant with the Affordable Care Act may waive the SHIP (exception - international students):
This waiver is not a guarantee of health coverage in Idaho. It is your responsibility to determine if your health insurance company is accepted in Idaho, either at NNU Health Services or another medical group in the area.

  • Request to waive out by submitting the waiver form along with a copy of your health insurance card.
  • Request must be submitted by the first day of classes at the beginning of each school year.
  • After your request has been processed, you will receive an email approving or denying your request.
  • If your request is approved, please allow two weeks for the charge to be subtracted from your account.
  • If your request is denied, you may appeal that decision by completing the SHIP Waiver Appeal Process.

Graduate Student Insurance

Graduate students will not be automatically billed for SHIP, but may choose to enroll by completing the opt-in form.
