Meet the Engagement & Belonging Team
Amanda Marble Baldwin
Director of Retention and Persistence
Amanda provides targeted support to keep students on track to graduate through:
- Connecting Students to Campus Resources: This proactive approach connects students to available support systems that can enhance their academic success, well-being and overall university experience.
- Providing Personalized Interventions: Because each student faces unique challenges and has individual needs, these interventions address specific issues effectively, offering solutions tailored to each student’s situation.
- Serving as a Liaison for Students Between Faculty and Administration: This role ensures that student issues are heard and addressed, contributing to a smoother university experience and a stronger support network.

Stacie Knudsen
Student Support Advocate
Stacie offers personalized guidance to help address concerns and navigate the complexities of university business:
- Serving as a Liaison for Students: Serving as a point of contact for student questions, providing key resources, support and advocacy to help students succeed and navigate university life.
- Providing One-on-One Support:Through mentoring, coaching and advocacy, this role supports students as they navigate all aspects of university life. Specific focus given to the areas of:
- Financial Aid: Helping students navigate the complexities of financial aid by providing guidance on applying for loans/scholarships, understanding financial aid packages and troubleshooting issues surrounding student aid.
- Student Billing: Assisting students with questions related to their billing statements and payment plans to ensure that students understand their financial obligations and help them manage their accounts effectively.
Lance Howard
Student Support Advocate And Director of Journeys Outfitting Co.
Lance offers personalized guidance to help address concerns and navigate the complexities of university business:
- Serving as a Liaison for Students: Serving as a point of contact for student questions, providing key resources, support and advocacy to help students succeed and navigate university life.
- Providing One-on-One Support: Through mentoring, coaching and advocacy, this role supports students as they navigate all aspects of university life.

Ashley Gage
Director of Multicultural Engagement & Belonging and Associate Chaplain
Ashley’s office is located in Conrad Commons. Ashley provides targeted support to keep students on track to graduate through:
- First-Generation Initiatives and Programming: Manages the First-Generation Scholars Scholarship program, along with First-Generation events throughout the academic year.
- Facilitating Programs and Initiatives: Providing opportunities for underrepresented and/or underserved groups to be recognized as a vital part of the university, including serving as advisor of the Cultural Diversity Association (CDA).
