MEDIA & COMMUNITY RELATIONS

Media Inquiries

NNU’s Office of External Relations is responsible for helping the University tell its story—Robert (Rob) O’Donahue serves as the Director of Media Relations. He acts as the primary point of contact for the media, managing all communication between journalists and the University by facilitating interviews with students, faculty experts, issuing press releases, organizing press conferences and generally promoting positive news about the institution to the public through various media outlets.

The Office of Media Relations should always be informed about interviews conducted by faculty and staff, preferably beforehand. Please send an email to rjodonahue@nnu.edu.

Faculty/staff contacted by media representatives should consult with the Media Relations Director who can communicate with the reporter, the angle the story is likely to take, other stories the reporter may be researching or writing at the time and any other background information that may be helpful in advance of the interview.

Since NNU is a private university and all areas are not open to the general public, media partners should reach out to Rob or the Office of External Relations prior to visiting the campus.

To contact Rob, call his office at 208.467.8412, his cell phone at 208.761.5644 or email rjodonahue@nnu.edu.

Community Relations

The Office of Community Relations at NNU acts as a bridge between the institution and the surrounding community, primarily focusing on building and maintaining positive relationships by facilitating partnerships, promoting outreach programs, addressing local concerns and ensuring the University is actively contributing to the community’s well-being; essentially serving as a central point of contact for community members seeking to engage with the college.

NNU is proud that Nampa is its home community. NNU has been at the heart of the community for 112 years. The Community Relations Director works with community and campus leaders on quality-of-life issues including area infrastructure, sustainability, public schools, economic development, transportation, equity and planning, through various community partnerships including the Nampa Chamber, Idaho Hispanic Community Center and the Mayor’s office and various civic organizations.

NNU has hosted myriad of events that the public is invited to such as the annual Noel Concert, Great Hymns of Faith, gospel and traveling Christian artists, Idaho Music Educators Association, annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes camps and other sports camps, and has hosted special events such as gubernatorial debates, panel discussions on mental health issues and suicide prevention, Hispanic Youth Leadership Symposium and home school conferences, just to name a few.

Since NNU is a private university and all areas are not open to the general public, community and organization representatives should reach out to Rob or the Office of External Relations prior to visiting the campus.

To contact Rob, call his office at 208.467.8412, his cell phone at 208.761.5644 or email rjodonahue@nnu.edu.
