Assistant Professor of Counselor Education

Biography:  I’m a Texan and completed my degrees at Adams State University in Colorado and at the University of Wyoming. I’m a practicing counselor in a rural community and am an active member of Melba Friends Church.

What is your favorite thing about working at NNU? Helping students transform.

Share a few facts about your specific area(s) of expertise that you bring to the classroom: I have counseled since 2015 and have trained in several counseling modalities. I have a dual minor in quantitative and qualitative research. My expertise is as a generalist practitioner, and I believe in helping students lay a strong foundation of knowledge and skills in CACREP core areas.

Share a few pieces of information that represent your teaching experience and why you love working with students: My teaching philosophy centers around Transformative Learning Theory, and I see myself as a rock tumbler who helps students polish their natural beauty. I believe in having high standards and offering high support. I love to watch people grow and change!
