Deb Bradburn
Assistant Coach
Biography: Deb Bradburn returned to the Northwest Nazarene volleyball sideline as an assistant coach prior to the 2023 season.
Bradburn, who was NNU’s head volleyball coach for four seasons from 2001-04, ventures back into the college ranks after nearly 20 years in the high school and club coaching world.
During that stretch, she has held a variety of head coaching roles, including Meridian HS from 2005-06, Kuna HS from 2007-18, Kuna Volleyball Club from 2008-13, Idaho Crush Volleyball Club from 2014-20, and currently coaches the Idaho One Volleyball Club. Prior to her time at NNU, she also coached at Middleton HS from 1992-2000, Kuna HS in 1991, and was an assistant at Montana State Billings in 1990.
Bradburn helped usher NNU into the NCAA Division II ranks, starting her stint in 2001 when the university joined the GNAC as a full DII member. During her four seasons, NNU went 49-57 overall and 31-41 in conference play, including 14-11 in her final year. Ten athletes were named All-GNAC during Bradburn’s tenure.
Bradburn’s coaching career has been highly decorated, coaching multiple national teams at the club level as well as multiple state qualifying squads at the high school level. At Kuna HS, her teams reached states three times, including a fourth-place finish in 2009. She was named the 4A District III Coach of the Year four times and earned the same recognition at the 5A level once. At Middleton HS, her teams were state finalists four times in a five-year stretch from 1996-2000 and she was named the District Coach of the Year three times.
In 2022, Bradburn also earned the prestigious honor of FCA Idaho Coach of the Year. She has been a clinician for the FCA Pacific Northwest Camp since 2005, as well as the Set Apart Volleyball Camps since 2017 and Kuna Volleyball Camps since 2007.
In addition to volleyball, Bradburn has also coached track & field at NNU and Middleton HS, girls basketball at Middleton HS, and tennis at Kuna HS. She has also been a high school teacher and instructional coach for many years, as well as an adjunct professor at NNU from 2001-05.
Bradburn is a 1991 graduate of Montana State Billings with a Bachelor of Science in Education, K-12 Heath, P.E. and Recreation. She also earned a Master of Arts in Education, Curriculum and Instruction degree from Boise State in 2008. While at MSUB, she was the volleyball team captain and MVP in 1989, and was inducted into the Yellowjacket Hall of Fame and Distinction in 2002.
She is a native of St. Maries, Idaho, where she helped St. Maries HS to three-straight state championships in volleyball from 1983-85.
Bradburn’s family includes husband Dave, daughter Mahala (former libero for Idaho State), and two dogs Buddy and new puppy Libby. Besides volleyball, she love the outdoors, especially mountain biking.
