Jeffery Edmiston

Assistant Professor of Counselor Education

Biography: Dr. Edmiston is a dedicated faculty member in the Counseling Department, holding a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University. With a passion for fostering growth and resilience in diverse populations, Dr. Edmiston specializes in multicultural counseling, group counseling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practices, and Primary Care Behavioral Health. Their expertise extends to integrating spiritual and religious dimensions into therapeutic practice and exploring innovative outdoor therapies. Dr. Edmiston is committed to empowering future counselors by creating dynamic, inclusive learning environments and advancing the profession through a holistic and culturally attuned approach.

What is your favorite thing about working at NNU?: My favorite thing about working at NNU is the students. NNU counseling students are compassionate about serving the community and eager to learn.
