Robyn O'Donahue

Undergraduate Admissions Counselor

Biography: Hello, my name is Robyn O’Donahue! I was born and raised in Idaho, and I have spent most of my life at NNU, too! I have been running around NNU since I was four years old, and I just can’t get enough. I graduated from NNU in 2021 with a social work degree, then went on to earn my master’s degree in social work at Texas Woman’s University in 2023. In April of 2024 I earned my social work license. My passion is working with students, so I love that I get to continue pursuing that passion at NNU. On top of my love for working with students, I am also a big-time music lover and a jazz singer on the side! Come into my office to see a new album displayed at my desk every week!

Favorite Thing About Working at NNU: Working at NNU has been a gift, truly. Being able to serve a community that has served me for so many years is such a blessing. My favorite thing about working at NNU is getting to work alongside my family members and being able to pursue my passions with the support of an awesome team around me.

Share a few facts about your specific area(s) of expertise that you bring to your work: When completing my master’s degree, I worked with aged-out foster youth in a university setting who were part of a student organization called “P.U.S.H” or Persevere Until Success Happens. Post graduation, I was the program coordinator for the aforementioned program. Being able to marry my skills in social work with my love for higher education is what brought me into this position. I love being able to do social work in a unique way that most might not realize is still social work.

Share a few pieces of information about why you love working with students: I love working with students because there’s something truly special about being their first point of contact with the University. I get to ignite their excitement about college and showcase everything NNU has to offer—it’s the perfect springboard for unlocking endless possibilities. Our students are our “why,” and serving them in this capacity makes coming to work feel less like a job and more like an exciting puzzle I get to solve every day!
