Resources
Going to class online may seem like an easy route to earning a degree but in reality it can be more time consuming and challenging than a traditional face-to-face program. The good news is, at NNU, you won’t have to go it alone. You’ll have access to support services and resources to help you navigate the challenges of both technology and academics so you can truly take advantage of the convenience and accessibility online programs offer.
Academic Support
From the first day of classes through commencement, the Center for Academic Success & Advising offers a full array of academic services including: tutoring, academic coaching, disability support for academics, academic advising for select majors and “deciding” students, and test proctoring services.
NNU’s John E. Riley Library offers a huge selection of physical and digital resources for every student to take advantage of. Find a state-of-the-art physical study space in the Leah Peterson Learning Commons or find materials online.
Get personalized help with papers for your classes from the NNU Writing Center. The Online Writing Lab is specifically designed to work within Canvas for online students. Grammarly and TurnItIn are also available for checking your writing for accuracy and academic integrity.
Technical Support
Information Technology Services (ITS) provides a Help Desk for your technology questions. They also offer variety of support services for computing at NNU including email, password management and your NNU network drive.
If you need help with Canvas, NNU’s Office of Instructional Design & Technology can help, but better yet, you have 24/7 access to Canvas support by calling 855.264.1995. You can also access a Canvas Student Guide for an exhaustive list of feature tutorials.
Accessibility Support

NC-SARA: Consumer Protection for Online Education
NNU is a member of the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA). NC-SARA membership entails both assurance of program quality and consumer protection standards for distance and online learning. In fields leading to professional licensure, we recommend students check with the licensing agency in their home state prior to enrolling in a program of study to determine what regulations, if any, apply to education programs in their state. To help students with these questions we have developed specific Professional Licensure resource pages for each NNU program that leads to licensure.
