Award – Nominations

The Alumni Association of NNU presents awards in up to four different categories each fall at homecoming. Do you know an outstanding alumnus who deserves to be honored? If so, read through the criterion listed below and complete the nomination form. You may submit more than one nomination for more than one award. Selections for awards are made each fall by the Alumni Board of Directors based on nominations made in time for consideration at the fall meeting of the board, which is held in in conjunction with Homecoming each year.

Alumni of the Year

Presented each year to an alumnus who has rendered a special and outstanding service to NNU, or by personal achievement has brought honor and distinction to the University and exemplifies the Christian ideals of the University.

Leon Doane Young Alumni

Recipients must have graduated from NNU within the last fifteen years and will be selected for demonstrated leadership, Christian character, professional endeavors, and support of their alma mater.

Professional Achievement

Nominees should have a distinguished record of achievement in their profession, thus bringing honor and recognition to the University. They must be alumni of NNU.

Distinguished Service

Nominees should have a record of outstanding service to the University or to the NNU Alumni Association and may be alumni, members of the NNU staff or friends of the University.

Family Heritage Award

Recipients will be alumni families who, throughout generations, have brought honor and distinction to the University and who have advanced the cause of Christ through their lives and service. Among the criteria for this award are the number of individuals who have attended, taught at and/or served the University over time. This award will be presented a minimum of once every five years, but preferably not in consecutive years.
