NOW WHAT? MOVING ON AFTER GRADUATION

Apr 24, 2023 | Blog

The best part of setting goals is the moment you reach them. The feeling of accomplishment is fulfilling and so exciting! But it may leave you thinking, “Now what?” As the academic year comes to a close, keep these 3 things in mind so you can savor that feeling of accomplishment:

Soak in the celebration:

Many describe celebrations as a blur; weddings, graduations, your 7-day vacation abroad. Each thing takes planning and preparation, but it’s over in the blink of an eye. This graduation season, take a moment to soak in the details. Spend a minute longer looking at yourself in your cap and gown, take too many pictures and enjoy your friends and family cheering you on as you walk across the stage. All these little moments are well deserved and make up memories you will hold onto in the future.

Reflect on your journey:

You made it! It started with a dream and a submitted application, and now you are here! It didn’t happen overnight. There were countless homework assignments, hours of classes, and you stretched yourself in ways you couldn’t have anticipated. Reflect on all of your work and be proud!

Set new goals:

Once the excitement is over and you have your degree in hand, don’t be surprised if you feel a little unsettled. You’ve spent the last few years as a student, working hard with focus and determination, and now you’re moving into a whole new season of life. Sit down and write out some professional goals for yourself. That way, if things feel overwhelming or you feel lost, you always have something to fall back on and work toward in this new transition.

NNU is celebrating our graduates this month! Congratulations on all their hard work and dedication! If you are ready to start your journey to graduation day, get connected today.
