What Makes NNU’s Doctoral Programs Unique?

  • Each course has a dissertation requirement so you’ll never be alone while working on your dissertation. You will be fully supported and have faculty and dissertation chairs to guide you along your dissertation journey. When you graduate from NNU’s doctoral programs after only 26 months, you’ll be finished with your dissertation! In addition, if you’re a Ph.D. student, you will have submitted a manuscript to a peer-reviewed journal to get you on the road to publishing.
  • NNU doctoral programs have a low student-faculty ratio. Dissertation chairs at NNU usually work with one or two students at a time so they can give them a lot of guidance and substantive feedback quickly throughout the process. This is part of the reason NNU’s doctoral programs have an over 95% on-time completion rate and zero students who are All But Dissertation (ABD).
  • Program faculty will take care of you the entire time you are in the program. Faculty are accessible and want to help you with the difficult concepts in research and dissertation writing. They are involved from admission to graduation—and stay in relationship far beyond graduation.
  • The community built in this online doctoral program with student cohorts is a hallmark of NNU’s doctoral programs. A few years ago, NNU doctoral faculty published an article in a peer-reviewed journal about the NNU doctoral program community:

Studebaker & Curtis (2021). Building community in an online doctoral program. Chrisitan Higher Education, 20(1-2), 15-27.  https://doi.org/10.1080/15363759.2020.1852133
