Carol Bohannon
Program Coordinator, GPS
Biography: Carol Bohannon serves as the Program Coordinator for the College of Business STEP and Graduate programs, where she plays a pivotal role in overseeing the academic journey of business degree and certificate program students. From orientation to graduation, Carol is dedicated to supporting and guiding her students, ensuring they have access to all necessary course offerings and materials. She collaborates effectively with various departments, including Admissions, the Registrar, faculty, and staff, to facilitate a smooth educational experience.
Before her current position, Carol gained valuable experience as a teacher in the GED program at the College of Western Idaho. In this role, she guided nearly 60 students through their studies, enabling them to complete their GEDs—a testament to her passion for helping others achieve their educational goals. Her commitment to student success is one of her most significant sources of fulfillment.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Carol earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Elizabethtown University. While initially putting her education on hold 18 credits shy of graduation in 1991 due to financial constraints, she persevered and completed her degree online in 2014. Balancing work and family responsibilities as the mother of five young children, Carol understands the challenges of managing multiple commitments and celebrates the joy of achieving what once seemed impossible.
Carol and her family have made Idaho their home since late 2014. With four of her daughters now adults and independent, she enjoys a close bond with her youngest son, Caleb, who is 17. The Bohannon family shares a love for nature, frequently enjoying the beauty of waterways, birdwatching, and hiking together. As active members of West Valley Baptist Church in Nampa, ID, they cherish the support of their church family. Carol enthusiastically participates in various church ministries, including singing in the choir and working in the nursery.
An avid learner with a strategic and analytical mindset, Carol thrives on problem-solving and believes in enjoying one’s work. Her combination of a business-focused mindset and a passion for education positions her perfectly to assist students at the College of Business in fulfilling their aspirations. Carol Bohannon considers it a blessing to be part of this academic community, where she can inspire and enable others to reach their goals.
