Jeffrey P. Lineman
Professor of Business
Biography: Jeffrey Lineman is a tenured Professor of Management and MIS at Northwest Nazarene University. He received an MS from Baker University, an M.Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. in Organization and Management with an emphasis in Information Technology from Capella University.
He teaches management courses as well as information systems, computer applications, and business analytics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. He has served the community as a member of Lion International and enjoys playing the saxophone. He has three adult children and two grandchildren and resides in Nampa, Idaho, with his wife, Dawn.
Dr. Lineman has been in higher education for over thirty years and has served on multiple faculty committees, including being the chair of two different committees. He has also served as an ACBSP Site Evaluator, Digital Media Communications Committee and Chair, Baccalaureate-Graduate Board of Commissioner and Chair, and the CLEP Principles of Management Standards Committee 2008-2018.

What is your favorite thing about working at NNU? My favorite thing about working at NNU is the opportunity to fulfill the calling that God has placed on my heart. Assisting individuals in the educational and spiritual journey is extremely rewarding. Seeing how you impact others brings one of the greatest joys in life!\
Share a few facts about your specific area(s) of expertise that you bring to the classroom: My experience has been wide and unique. I started with an undergraduate degree in music education and worked as a youth and music minister before pursuing an M.Div. in religion, an MS, and a Ph.D. in business.
I organized and developed a new bookstore for NTS, served as a TA, led youth gatherings, directed choirs, and orchestras, was an office manager, director of financial aid, and Program Director, and led multiple groups and committees. I assisted my grandfather in sanding gymnasium floors, delivered newspapers, and worked in school libraries,
These and other experiences have given me an interesting look at life, people, management, and technology that I can share with my students.
My latest adventure is processing how AI will change the world while addressing what I can do to ensure students are prepared to meet that challenge.
Share a few pieces of information that represent your teaching experience and why you love working with students: I try to provide a balance of approaches and experiences in my courses. My ultimate goal is for students to learn something valuable and useful for their careers.
I also try to inject humor and fun into my courses! Everyone feels better when they smile!
