Mike Bartlett
Professor of Visual Arts
Biography: Mike grew up in Spokane, WA, studied Fashion Design abroad in Florence, Italy, and worked for Carhartt in Detroit, MI. He teaches Graphic Design, Typography, Web Design, UX/UI, Social Media, Product Design, along with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver and After Effects. Showing students how to develop creative ideas, apply them across a variety of media and present those ideas to clients, is one of Mike’s specialties. He loves being a guide on the creative journey for students from when they walk onto campus all the way to their first job.
Favorite Thing About Working at NNU: Mike’s favorite thing about NNU is being able to help students develop and grow their ideas into real things that impact the world.
Share a few facts about your specific area(s) of expertise that you bring to your work: Mike consistently works on freelance website and design projects to keep himself fresh and up-to-date with current industry trends. He is always trying new forms of artwork and teaching methods to help people foster their creative growth.

Seeing students’ unbridled optimism reminds Mike that small ideas can grow into big movements of change in our world.
