Joel & Nikki Pearsall
New Student Bible Fund
Named in honor of Joel and Nikki Pearsall, this endowed fund reflects their faithful leadership and deep spiritual commitment and love for the students of Northwest Nazarene University.
This fund will ensure, in perpetuity, that every new traditional undergraduate student receives a personal Bible as they begin their journey at NNU—an enduring gift to support their spiritual growth, study and commitment to become God’s creative and redemptive agents in the world.
Through this initiative, Joel and Nikki’s legacy of Christ-centered service and care for students will continue to impact lives for generations to come.

This initiative was inspired by Chaplain Grant Miller while teaching a Biblical Literature class at NNU. Grant was struck by something unexpected—several students didn’t have Bibles with them and some used an electronic device to read His word. That moment caused Grant to pause and reflect: How can we meet this need? What can we do to ensure every student has access to God’s Word?
Grant shared this with Associate Chaplain, Ashley Gage, and she expressed that she had heard of another Christian university that provided Bibles to their student-athletes. They both thought it was a great idea, but couldn’t help but wonder: Why stop there? Why not make Bibles available to all incoming first-year and transfer students?
With that vision in mind, Grant posed the idea to the NNU Foundation Board, and their response was immediate and enthusiastic: “What do we need to do to make this happen?” That conversation sparked the beginning of what is now known as The Bible Fund.
Thanks to the generosity of the NNU Foundation Board, Inc. and donors like you, we’ve been able to provide Bibles to new students over the past two years. Now, we are working toward a bold goal: to raise $250,000, endowing a fund that will ensure every new NNU student will receive this gift in perpetuity.
Through this initiative, the love that Joel and Nikki have for Christ, for scripture and for NNU students will continue to be shared—one Bible at a time.
We invite you to join us in this mission. Your support will help us place the Word of God into the hands and hearts of students for years to come.
Thank you!
