Admissions Requirements

Transfer Admissions Criteria: The minimum requirements to be accepted for transfer students at NNU are as follows:
  • Cumulative college GPA of at least 2.0
  • Good academic standing at all previous institutions
  • Students with fewer than 28 transfer credits will also be evaluated on high school GPA and ACT or SAT scores if applicable (NNU does not require SAT, ACT, or CLT scores for admission)
  • Transfer students falling below regular requirements in one or more areas may be admitted on provisional status. Call the transfer admissions counselor for more information.

Step One

To be considered for acceptance at NNU you must submit the following:

  • NNU Undergraduate Application for Admission
  • Unofficial transcripts from every college you've attended since graduating from high school and/or any college credits taken concurrently during high school. These can be scanned and emailed to your admissions counselor.

Although it is not required for admission, you might also consider submitting your FAFSA and having the results sent to NNU by adding the code 001624.  If you do not intend to file a FAFSA, please indicate this on your admission application.

Step Two

The following documents will become available on your student status page once you are accepted for admission to NNU and are required to complete your admissions file and to enroll:

  • Transfer Academic Planning form - This form is a crucial part of NNU’s process of planning and scheduling your first semester’s courses for you.
  • Immunization Record - You may also scan and email a copy of your immunization records to your admissions counselor.  See the NNU Wellness Center’s website for more details.

  • Housing form - This online form is required of all students, whether they live on or off campus.  If you are 24 or older, there will be no additional housing information needed.  If you are under the age of 22, unmarried, and have no children, you will be required to submit an additional form to be considered for an exception to the campus housing policy.  Please visit the NNU Student Life web page that discusses this for more information.

  • Health Insurance Waiver - All students are automatically enrolled in NNU’s Student Health Insurance Plan unless they use this form to opt out of that coverage.  A copy of the front and back of the applicable insurance card is also required if the form is submitted.  If you plan to use NNU’s student insurance, you do not need to complete this form.

  • Financial Aid Offer - If this option is available on your status page, it means that you have been awarded an NNU financial aid offer.  You will then need to click on the link to accept or decline your aid package.

You will also need to submit the following:

  • Official transcripts - Official transcripts are required from every college you've attended since graduating from high school and/or all college credits taken concurrently while in high school. These can be sent electronically to, or by mail to NNU Undergraduate Admissions, 623 S. University Boulevard, Nampa, ID 83686.

If you have less than 28 college credits to transfer, also submit:

  • ACT or SAT scores if applicable (scores are not required for admission but may be used to determine some scholarship qualifications.  Contact your admission counselor if you have any questions)

  • High school transcripts or high school equivalency test scores.

Step Three

Once you have been accepted to NNU, you can secure your financial aid, housing assignment, and class schedule by paying your $250 advance tuition deposit. This deposit will be applied to your tuition. The deposit must be in by May 15 (fall semester applicants) or November 15 (spring semester applicants) to secure your spot at NNU. This deposit is non-refundable after May 1 for fall semester applicants or December 1 for spring semester applicants.
