Sep 24, 2025 | Blog

At Northwest Nazarene University, the Graduate and Professional Studies (GPS) Admissions Office is not just a place where applications are processed and decisions are made—it’s a vibrant hub of passionate individuals dedicated to guiding students on their educational journeys. Today, we’re excited to introduce you to the amazing team that makes it all happen!

Lindsay KuhlLindsay Kuhl, Director of Graduate Admissions

Lindsay is no stranger to NNU. In fact, her roots run deep, having been a student here herself. A fun fact about Lindsay is that she started two long-standing campus traditions during her time as a student: “The Woman Is Required to Pay” (TWIRP) and the Brick, a frozen coffee drink that remains a favorite at student events. Lindsay finds joy in seeing these traditions still alive and well, knowing she played a part in their beginnings.

When asked about her favorite thing about working at NNU, Lindsay’s answer is simple yet profound: “I love being part of a community that values relationships and supports one another. It’s truly special to be back here, contributing to the place that shaped so much of who I am.”

Cheryl ClarkCheryl Clark, Admissions Specialist

Cheryl brings a grounded yet adventurous spirit to the team, shaped by her upbringing on a dairy farm in Jerome, ID. Whether she’s paddling her kayak on the weekends or contributing her steady dedication at NNU, Cheryl’s deep-rooted commitment to hard work and community is evident in everything she does.

Cheryl’s favorite thing about working at NNU? “I love my job and the people I work with.” It’s her genuine appreciation for her colleagues that makes Cheryl such a cherished part of the team.

Tammy McOmber, Admissions Counselor

Tammy finds joy in the outdoors, especially hiking, and also treasures time with a hot cup of coffee and a good book. She is a certified Enneagram Coach, and a self-proclaimed “Enneagram nerd” in the middle of authoring her second book on the topic.

For Tammy, one of the best parts of her role at NNU is the opportunity to collaborate with others and encourage growth. She says, “I appreciate working alongside an amazing team and find it especially meaningful to support people as they take steps toward their goals.”

Chelsea Pearsall, Admissions Counselor

Chelsea is a two-time graduate of NNU (BA & MA) and an ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene. She knows from firsthand experience what it takes to be a graduate student and working adult. Not only has Chelsea has been a youth pastor, campus pastor and lead pastor, but she has also been a barista at a local coffee shop. Chelsea loves a cup of coffee and baked goods any time of day! She is also a twin and loves sharing that fun fact with others.

When it comes to working at NNU, Chelsea’s greatest joy comes from the people—both students and colleagues. She shares, “I love who I work with and I am grateful to be part of such a supportive and enjoyable team. I especially enjoy working with those who care for spirit, mind, strength and heart.”

Chloe WidemerChloe Widener, Admissions Counselor

Chloe is all about balance, whether it’s watching Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune with her family or enjoying a cozy weekend at a local coffee shop, her hobbies reflect her love for both family and community.

Chloe loves helping educators achieve their career goals. “I love being able to help teachers or aspiring teachers become licensed, whether it’s as a classroom teacher, principal or in special education. It’s incredibly fulfilling to play a role in their professional journeys.”

Whether you’re a prospective student or a current member of the NNU family, the GPS Admissions Team is here to support you every step of the way! Connect with them by emailing gps@nnu.edu or by visiting the graduate admissions webpage where individual counselor contact information is available.
