About Biology, Pre-Physical Therapy
The Bachelor of Science Pre-Physical Therapy degree prepares students for entry to a graduate program in physical therapy (PT) or athletic training (AT) by obtaining a baccalaureate degree, completing the prerequisite course work for entry into specific programs, and by obtaining a broad variety of volunteer clinical experience under the direction of a physical therapist or athletic trainer (120-150 hours).
Both majors contain a common core of courses that expose students to courses in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and psychology. Based on a pre-physical therapy or athletic training concentration, students can choose elective courses from a specified list of biology, chemistry, and kinesiology courses based on personal interest.
See the Kinesiology Athletic Training page for that concentration’s requirements.
