NNU FORENSICS TEAM FINDS SUCCESS IN PORTLAND

NNU Forensics Speech and Debate Team

NNU’s forensic team recently had the opportunity to represent the University in Portland at the Steve Hunt Classic hosted by Lewis and Clark University as well as the Neil Sabin swing speech tournament the same weekend.

Miya Ingram took home the Top Individual Sweepstakes Award having placed 1st in Dramatic Interpretation, 1st in Persuasive Speaking and 3rd in Informative Speaking at the Neil Sabin Tournament. She also placed 3rd in Dramatic Interpretation and was a finalist in Informative Speaking at the Steve Hunt Classic

Brooklyn Hallett was a quarter-finalist in Junior IPDA debate, beating out the top seed in the Octafinal round as a freshman. 

In his first debate competition, Micah Mallory won 3 out of his 5 debates in the preliminary rounds, just barely missing the cut to compete past them. 

NNU’s forensic team proved themselves against over 30 other universities and colleges nationwide, including Illinois State, Boise State, Oregon State, San Diego State and other larger institutions.
