About Pre-Counseling

The Pre-Counseling program at NNU is designed to prepare you for a career in mental health services or further graduate education. You’ll build a strong foundation in psychological theory while developing essential skills in empathy, active listening and working with diverse populations. In addition to psychology and counseling courses, you’ll take classes in interpersonal, intercultural and nonverbal communication—giving you the tools to connect effectively with others in any setting. Throughout the program, you’ll be grounded in ethical, evidence-based practices that prepare you to make a meaningful impact in your community.
