From Athletic Championships to Commencement in the rain and hail, here are our favorite moments from 2022:

Our Nighthawks flew to the top in 2022, with men’s and women’s basketball teams both reaching the GNAC tournament and women’s soccer reaching the GNAC Championships Final. Not only that, but we had individual championship winners in men’s indoor and women’s outdoor track & field and championship wins in softball, baseball and men’s soccer—who then went on to the elite eight! We’re so proud of all of our student-athletes and everything they accomplish throughout the year. Go Nighthawks!

Commencement in the Rain

NNU’s outdoor graduation ceremonies in May of 2022 were some of the most memorable (maybe not pretty) we’ve ever experienced when a storm spitting rain and hail threatened to shut down the event before every student collected a diploma. To those brave souls who blew across the stage and came away soaking wet, we’re here for you come rain or come shine.

Academic Clubs Receive National Recognition

In the spring, NNU’s forensic team competed in the National Christian College Forensics Invitational in Lynchburg, VA and swept the interpretive and platform events, earning an overall second-place finish among Division II Christian universities. Meanwhile, students in NNU’s American Marketing Association (AMA) chapter received multiple awards for their work at the American Marketing Association national collegiate conference in Chicago.

Study-Abroad Partnership with Africa Nazarene Begins

NNU students and faculty arrived in Nairobi, Kenya at the beginning of the fall semester to embark on their study-abroad journey in partnership with Africa Nazarene University. Meanwhile, ANU students were getting settled at NNU for their semester in the U.S.!

Thank you for making it a great year, Nighthawks! Now we look forward to all you will accomplish and the new ways you will grow in 2023.
